Chandler Gilbert Community College Lab Classroom Renovation – Pecos Campus | Chandler, AZ | 3,600 SF
Deutsch renovated Chandler Gilbert Community College’s existing Biotechnology Classroom Building “S”, constructed in 1998 containing 4 laboratory/classrooms. Insufficient laboratory classroom space along with uncomfortable, and not very student-friendly laboratory space, were concerns voiced by staff in early programming sessions with CGCC. Deutsch was tasked with converting 2 existing laboratory/classrooms totaling 3,600 SF into 3 student-friendly classrooms, with layouts more conducive to modern, technology-based learning. The renovations included three new classrooms for Biology I, Biology II, and Micro Biotechnology. Renovations included new millwork with chemical resistant tops, relocation of existing fume hoods, new safety and eyewash showers, and an upgrade of the existing sanitation sewer. The scope also included minor upgrades to the remaining classrooms.
